Community Language Learning (CLL)

Community Language Learning (CLL) is a method of second language acquisition developed by Charles Curran in the 1960s.

It is a form of experiential learning in which the learner is actively involved in the language learning process and is given the opportunity to use the language in real-life situations.

In a CLL class, the teacher plays a facilitative role, helping the learner to express themselves in the target language and providing feedback and support as needed.

The focus is on the learner's needs and interests, and the goal is for the learner to become an active participant in the language community.

CLL classes often involve the use of authentic materials and real-life situations, and may include activities such as role-plays, simulations, and group discussions.

The aim is to create a supportive and collaborative learning environment in which learners can develop their language skills and cultural understanding.
